Pola Pembinaan Akhlak Santri Melalui Kegiatan Keagamaan di Madrasah Tsanawiyah Al-Istiqamah Banjarmasin

Abstract


Moral development is an essential component of education because it plays a significant role in shaping students' character and behavior in accordance with religious values and social norms. In the era of globalization, technological advancements and social changes present considerable challenges to the moral development of adolescents. Therefore, educational institutions are expected to implement systematic and sustainable moral development programs. MTs Al-Istiqamah Banjarmasin is one of the Islamic junior secondary schools that actively organizes various religious activities as an effort to foster students' moral character. This study aims to examine the pattern of students' moral development through religious activities, identify the forms of religious activities implemented, and analyze the supporting and inhibiting factors affecting moral development at MTs Al-Istiqamah Banjarmasin. This study employed a qualitative approach using field research. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation, and were analyzed descriptively through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The findings reveal that the pattern of students' moral development consists of three stages: planning, implementation, and evaluation. The moral development program is carried out through the recitation of Surah Yasin, Surah Al-Waqi'ah, and Surah Al-Mulk, tahlil, Burdah recitation, diniyah classes, the study of Islamic ethics (akhlaq) texts, and the cultivation of disciplined behavior and proper manners. The supporting factors include a religious boarding school environment, regular religious activities, teachers' exemplary conduct, and parental support. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors include the lack of discipline among some students and the limited supervision of students who do not reside in the Islamic boarding school.
